In this key position you will provide leadership to enable a well-organized, smooth running and efficient home health care service. Your primary focus is to manage clinical operations such as physiotherapy, post hospitalization IV care, chronic disease management, wound care, wellness checks, memory care, palliative care, feeding and nutrition and other specialties to ensure optimal client care. SUMMARY
As a Paramed Leader you are responsible for the professional and clinical leadership of a significant community care operation. This encompasses the support, management, education and human resource management of clinical supervisors and front-line community staff (Registered and UCPs) to ensure staff are delivering excellence and quality in care. You are responsible to meet quality and performance indicators of our organization, local funders and applicable provincial regulatory colleges. You are skilled in facilitating relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders.

SALARY - $80,000 to $85,000 plus benefits

SUMMARY
As a Paramed Leader you are responsible for the professional and clinical leadership of a significant community care operation. You are responsible to meet quality and performance indicators of our organization, local funders and applicable provincial regulatory colleges. You are skilled in facilitating relationships within the organization and with external stakeholders.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- As required, act as a liaison between staff and the provincial regulatory college regarding requirements such as standards of practice.
- Possess an in-depth understanding of the needs of the funder in your area.
- Liase with funder for contract monitoring including compliance within the contract requirements.
- Monitor clinical, operational, quality and contractual Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) against standards and ensures Paramed is meeting or exceeding targets.
- Develop action plans to meet targets.
- Provide succession planning within your operation and provides the learning tools and opportunities to meet that plan. (i.e. Create capacity within your location).
- Effectively build and manage client/patient relationships (Funders, Corporate Clients).
- Respond to and resolves urgent clinical concerns from staff, contractors, funders, clients/patients and families.
- Participate with all safety and quality issues.
- Participate in resolving issues representing unusually high risk such as withdrawal of service, abuse, unsafe conditions, or misconduct.
- Ensure completion of all mandatory training and skills development.
- Ensure qualified and adequate staffing to facilitate appropriate care in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Participate in the interviewing, orientation, ongoing supervision and performance management of clinical supervisors.
- Conduct objective and constructive performance reviews including clinical reviews as scheduled.
- Actively promote and participate in Paramed's continuous quality improvement program and risk management program
- Creates and maintain the on-call schedule for clinical supervisors
- Works collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team consisting of government agencies, healthcare workers, and other community resources
- Ensures compliance to ParaMed policies, procedures and legal requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Registration/licensing in good standing as a Registered Nurse with provincial regulatory college
- BScN preferred
- At least two (2) years of leadership or management experience
- Current certification (within the past 12 months) of First Aid, CPR, completed within Canada
- Knowledge of standards of care for palliative, wound, IV therapy and other specialties to offer leadership on best practices in these areas
- Able to review clinical work according to professional standards and practice guidelines
- Certification in Community Health Nursing with CNA certification preferred
- Excellent computer skills including experience in Word and Excel
- Able to provide a current, clear criminal back check with Vulnerable Position Screening (VPS)
- Personal vehicle is required for site visits and district travel (paid mileage)
